Founders
Brenda Jacobson, President
Brenda Jacobson has been immersed in the world of publishing for over four decades. As the daughter of the founding publisher of Multnomah Press, the industry is truly in her blood. She later joined forces with her husband, Don, launching Questar Publishers—an endeavor that would eventually lead to the acquisition of Multnomah, bringing her publishing journey full circle.
Brenda's leadership has always been about more than books—it's been about shaping culture, nurturing authors, and championing meaningful stories. She raised a family of book lovers and has continued to invest in publishing that reflects her values of faith, hope, and justice. Her husband Don serves as a Senior Vice President at HarperCollins.
Beyond publishing, Brenda is a gifted storyteller through photography and a passionate advocate for women in crisis. Through One Million Thumbprints, she’s given voice to women in war zones and even summited Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and funds on their behalf.
Brenda also treasures her roles as a mother and grandmother, and finds joy in walks, gardening, hospitality, and morning cups of coffee.
Martin Raz, Vice President of Operations
Martin (“Marty”) Raz has spent over 35 years in publishing, beginning his career in 1989 at Questar Publishers (which later became Multnomah Publishers) in Sisters, Oregon. His background spans nearly every operational facet of the industry—accounting, IT, contracts, and business systems—but his greatest strength lies in making sure things run with excellence behind the scenes.
Today, Marty oversees our editorial operations, managing a talented team of freelance editors and ensuring every project meets the high standards and lasting value our customers expect. His attention to detail, commitment to quality, and deep understanding of publishing processes make him an indispensable part of our mission to deliver meaningful, impactful content.
A life-long Oregonian, Marty enjoys the rhythms of the Pacific Northwest and when he's not reviewing spreadsheets or guiding editorial workflows, you’ll find him cooking new recipes or perfecting old, tending his seventy-year-old nectar berry vines, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Oregon Ducks and Portland Trail Blazers.
He lives in Oregon with his wife, Keri Jo, and together they support and celebrate their three adult children as they navigate life’s unfolding chapters.
